Culture Activities

            7 Day programme on Sri Krishna Janmochava-2019 was organized by the VRI from 20 to 26 August, 2019. Lectures of eminent scholars on different aspects on Sri Krishna were delivered daily.

            An exhibition on various aspects of Sri Krishna was inaugurated on 20th August, 2019. Rare paintings, manuscripts and other material related to Sri Krishna were displayed in the exhibition.

 

            Department of Culture, Govt. of UP, organized Sri Krishna Janmotsava 2019 from 23 to 25th August, 2019 at Mathura. According to the instructions of Govt. of U.P. the VRI made its involvement on 23rd August, 2019 with this program by organizing Sri Radha Krishna Roop-Sajja, Jal Sanjhi and Rangoli competitions based on Sri Krishna.

 

            Braj Folk Art Sanjhi exhibition was organized from 14 to 28 September, 2019. A seminar was organized on 14 Septemebr, 2019 presided over by Sant Govindanand Ji Tirth. Padmashri Krishna Kanhai was Chief Guest.

 

            A lecture was delivered by ABSA Mathura on 'Contribution of Mahatma Gandhi'. Group discussion of students on Gandhi Jayanti was also organized on 2nd October, 2019.

            Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India organized Rastriya Sanskriti Mahotsava in Madhya Pradesh. A folk cultural program based on Braj Ki Raslila was presented by the VRI at Sagar (M.P.) on 16th October, 2019. The program was performed by the renowned artists of Braj.

 

            Two day International seminar on the occasion of 176th anniversary of Nimbarkacharya Vrinda Mahotsav was organized on 14-15 November 2019. 12 scholars from india and 2 from abroad delivered the lectures on Dwaitadwaita and other Vaishnava philosophy.

 

            52nd Foundation Day Program was organized on 24-25 November, 2019. On 24th November Dr. R.D.Gupta (Founder) memorial lecture was delivered by Prof. Gangadhar Panda of BHU on the subject “Shri Krishna Ki Baal Leelaon Ke Rahasya” The lecture was presided over by Swami Govindanand Tirth. The lecture was followed by Dhrupada music presentation by Pt. Anand Kumar Malik.

 

            On 25th November, 2019 Kavya Ras Sangosthi was organized. 11 poets participated in the Sangosthi. The Chief Guest was Shri Shailajakant Mishra, Vice-Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Braj Teeth Vikas Board. Braj Folk Art Sanjhi and Rangoli were made by the students of different schools. The students were given prizes by the Chief Guest.

 

            A discussion programme of constitution of India was organized on 7 January 2020.

 

            Three day seminar from 19-21 January 2020 was organized in Thrissur, Kerala on 'Yug Yugeen Sri Krishna:Vyapti evam Sandarbha'. The seminar came out to be a successful one and achieved its target of documenting various aspects of Shri Krishna cult prevalent in Kerala.

 

            A seminar was organized on Basant Panchmi 30 January 2020. The scholars expressed their views on the references of Basant in the Braj literature.

 

            A lecture on Braj Basant was delivered by Acharya Chandra Prakash Sharma on 08 February 2020. Swami Govindanand Teerth presided over the program. The scholars expressed their views on the references of Basant in the Braj literature.

 

            A workshop on Meditation was organized on 16 February 2020 under the supervision of the disciples of Shri Shri Ravishankar. All staff members participated in the workshop.

 

            A seminar on Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta: Vividh Aayam was organized on 27 February 2020. Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji presided over the seminar while Swami Govindanand Teerth was chief guest. Shri Vrindavan Bihari, Dr. Umesh Sharma, Dr. Chandra Prakash Sharma, Shri Aaditya Chowdhary delivered the lecture on the subject.
